The theme of your round

What to pay attention to when you give your round a theme - and why choosing the theme is not everything.

Basically, rounds in COLORMARI can be shaped freely. Choosing an overall theme is therefore not a required field. But should you decide on a theme after all, it helps to pay attention to the following points:

How accessible is the theme you chose?

Note: Incomprehensible overall themes or an overcomplicated game mode can be off-putting and reduce people's willingness to take part in your round. Explain your theme well enough and lower the hurdles for your fellow players.

How interesting is the theme for everyone - regardless of your own interests?

First and foremost: always play the rounds you're up for. But if you can phrase your theme so that many people are motivated to join, many people win in the end.

No theme is a theme too.

But note: A theme you advertise your round with can encourage people to join. Tip: Don't try to straddle a round with a theme and a round without one. Make clear how you picture your round. That way there are no question marks that leave you or the others feeling unsure.

Choosing the theme isn't everything.

There are many factors besides the choice of your round's overall theme. If you host a round, you decide, for example, on the whole flow of the game. You start and end the drawing phase and finally steer the reveal. You decide how long the whole round lasts. What does that have to do with choosing a theme? Being aware of what makes a good round doesn't end with preparing a round. How you handle your round - during the round - is the other half of a good session of Colormari.

There are no limits to your imagination when choosing a theme. What matters most is always the fun you have together during the round. I'm convinced that a good idea and a good concept for the round will make this experience even better. With that in mind:

This is going to be good. 💫
