You want to give your round a theme, but nothing comes to mind right now? Here are ideas to take over, adapt or spin further. What makes a good theme: The theme of your round.

You enter the theme in the lobby under Topic. Several lines make several prompt rounds - so you can also play two or three themes one after the other.

To get started

  • Animals with jobs. A penguin as a firefighter, a snail delivering parcels. Everyone gets it at once, and the combinations are endless.
  • Under water. Fits ColorMari like hardly anything else - and from a seahorse to a sunken ship there's something for every skill level.
  • Food that's alive. A croissant on an adventure, a broccoli with stage fright. Simple shapes, lots of character.

For rounds with inside jokes

  • Our stream in 100 years. Works best with a community that knows each other - and with @ in the prompt, see Writing good prompts.
  • The round as superheroes. Everyone gets a power. With @! ColorMari puts in a random member of the round.
  • What really happens in the lunch break. For teams, classes and groups of friends with shared stories.

For the creative ones

  • Film scenes without words. Famous scenes from films or series, described without naming the title.
  • Idioms taken literally. "Raining cats and dogs", "a piece of cake" - drawn word for word.
  • Inventions nobody needs. An umbrella for fish, glasses for onions.

For the experienced

  • One place, three seasons. Several lines in the topic: the same scene in spring, in summer, in winter.
  • Style round. Everything in one colour, only circles, or as if it were a children's book. Explain the rule well - otherwise it becomes a stumbling block.
  • A serial story. In the Storyteller mode you set the sentences of a story, and the round draws them in order.

One last tip

A theme may surprise, but it should be doable within the time per drawing. If you're unsure: play the first round with a simple theme and work your way up.
