To play, you log in and either create a game or open the link of a lobby. That is all it takes: ColorMari runs in the browser, there is nothing to install.
On the login page you choose how you want to log in:
- With Twitch. Your Twitch name becomes your name in ColorMari.
- With YouTube.
- With email. We send you a six-digit code - there is no password. Your account is created with your first login.
If you log in with YouTube or by email, you pick a username the first time.
Create a game
- Open Play and create a new game.
- Share the lobby's link with your fellow players.
To begin with, you can simply start playing with the default settings. What sets the game modes apart is described in How ColorMari works.
Join a game
You join a game by opening the link you got from the person who created the lobby.
Without a link, use the home page: Games right now lists all running games. You join a public game there directly with Join. The others only appear as Invitation only - for those you need the link. To offer your own game there, set Access to Public (in the lobby browser) (see Game options for hosts).
If you lose the connection
If you lose the connection during the game, you can rejoin at any time with the same link - with another browser, too. You have to log in with the same account.
Streaming the game
You are welcome to stream ColorMari. Twitch has a category of its own for it, ColorMari, where you can also see who is playing live right now. If you would rather play along in somebody's round first, have a look at the ColorMari team on Twitch.

- The Storyteller game modeThe host writes a story, the round draws it - sentence by sentence, and at the end it becomes a picture book.
